SEFI8LO, Speed Pro Question!

I have a highly modified (Pistons, Rods, Cams, ect.) 95 B18C1 Engine in my 92 Civic Hatch I use for Street/Strip Duty. Its also my daily driver. I currently have an Apexi VTEC/AFC for tuning. Would I benefit from the Speed Pro Engine Management Unit (with wide-banc O2 Sensor Option) for my particular application? Does Speed Pro provide tuning instruction with the product? Someday I plan to go FI but will stay N/A at least another yr. Thanks for any info.

If your staying all motor for awhile i would say the speed pro is a bit overkill. perhaps if you ran individual throttle bodies or something then you would see gains. Speed Pro although it has been out for about 2 years now is still considered pretty new and the tuning knowledge/skematics are still kept pretty secretive compared to dfi which has been out for over 10 years now. Give it sometime and im sure more will be out there in terms of tips.

However SP is comming out with a new windows operating system which is going to have some amazing capabilities. If your not in an area with any experienced SP tuners the new software has the capability to be tuned via internet. your car could be sitting on a dyno in the middle of nowhere and you could setup an appointment with someone here on the westcoast and they could tune your car from remote location. Now isnt that just bad ass?

Hey, thats what I call a "bad ass" setup! Thanks for your info.! I'm located in Washington State, I did notice a Speed Pro dealer close to me when I inquired about dealers on their website. I don't know if they are into tuning GSR Engines. Could you tell me if Speedpro can provide a basic "start-up" program for my particular application, N/A, if I tell them what components I have installed in my engine? I can later wait for their new Windows Operating System and make an oppointment with a SpeedPro Tuner to tune via the internet. Did you get the Sequential Fuel Injection System with Wide-Band O2 Sensor option? I also like the fact that SpeedPro also offers an Individual Cylinder Fuel & Spark Control option. from experience i have found that the start up programs V8 SP tuners give are unlikely to work. the sequential SP isnt necessary for our smaller engines and doesnt justify the extra cost. I've been told that it at most makes 5 % more hp. Sequential is more used for v8s to stabilitize fuel pressure. Even when we use bank to bank systems on our 4 cylinders at most only 2 injectors fire at a time. Another benifit of running the bank to bank system is that it allows the use of the GM esc knock sensor module.

SEFI8LO... I just purchased TWO units for my cars... one for the Blackbird and obviously the other for the Aurora.

I could use some tech help on set-up... and the remote progamming ability would be killer for me. I had planned on Flying Harv St. Mary in to me to tune the cars on the dyno... however, he would be much cheaper in Cali !!!
